Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) took another important step toward its goal of fostering regional and international scientific collaborations by participating in the "III. International Salt Mountain Research Congress," hosted by Nakhchivan State University. Representing Çankırı Karatekin University, the congress was attended by Regional Development and Specialization Coordinator Prof. Dr. Tamer Keçeli.

The congress`s opening ceremony was held at the world-renowned Duzdağ Treatment Center. Scientific sessions in various disciplines continued at Nakhchivan State University.

The congress addressed the scientific aspects of Duzdağ and similar salt formations, which hold great geographical, geological, medical, and touristic potential. The congress comprehensively discussed the contributions of salt mines to health tourism, their role in the treatment of respiratory diseases, alternative therapy practices, and the opportunities they provide for regional development.
