Higher Education Council (YÖK) President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar announced the results of the 5th call period within the scope of the Regional Development Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization project. Accordingly, Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) took its place among the Specialized Universities. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi received the Specialized University Certificate from YÖK President Prof. Dr. Özvar at the ceremony attended by Çankırı Governor M. Fırat Taşolar and Çankırı Deputy M. Emin Akbaşoğlu.
CAKU WAS SELECTED AMONG 15 UNIVERSITIES THAT APPLIED
Higher Education Council President Prof. Dr. Özvar said, "As Higher Education Council, we have adopted a planning understanding and approach focused on diversity, differentiation and regional development in all processes of higher education in line with the goal of increasing diversity in higher education, which is expressed in the 11th Development Plan of our state. In this context, we consider our work on the specialization of our universities with a focus on mission differentiation, which is one of our most important initiatives in the nature of structural change, and we plan to strengthen our activities in this field together with our universities and all our stakeholders in the future. In this meeting, we announce to the public the participation of 3 new universities determined as a result of the evaluations made by our Commission and the Higher Education Executive Board among 15 universities that applied to the `Regional Development Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization` project, which is currently being carried out by our Presidency with the participation of 22 universities so far. Thus, the number of universities within the scope of the project has increased to 25. As a result of the evaluations made, Bitlis Eren University has succeeded in being included in the project in the field of `Tourism`, Çankırı Karatekin University in the field of `Sectoral Salt and Salt-Based Strategic Products` and Osmaniye Korkutata University in the field of `Renewable Energy and Battery Technologies`.
